2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined.

2 Out of Siōn is the splendor of his beauty; God will come visibly, 2 Out of Siōn is the splendor of his beauty;

3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence; a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

3 our God—and he will not remain silent; a fire will burn before him, and all around him is a strong windstorm. 3 God will come visibly, our God—and he will not remain silent; a fire will burn before him, and all around him is a strong windstorm.

4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

5 Gather my saints together unto me; those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God is judge himself. Selah.

7 Hear, Oh my people, and I will speak; Oh Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, even your God.

8 I will not reprove you for your sacrifices or your burned offerings, to have been continually before me.

8 I will rebuke you not for your sacrifices, but for your whole burnt offerings which are always before me. 8 I will rebuke you not for your sacrifices, but for your whole burnt offerings which are always before me.

9 I will take no bullock out of your house, nor he goats out of your folds.

9 I will not accept calves from your house nor young he-goats from your flocks, 9 I will not accept calves from your house nor young he-goats from your flocks,

10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon 1000 hills.

10 because all wild animals of the forest are mine, beasts on the mountains and cattle. 10 because all wild animals of the forest are mine, beasts on the mountains and cattle.

11 I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

11 I know all the birds of the sky, and a field’s beauty is with me. 11 I know all the birds of the sky, and a field’s beauty is with me.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is mine, and the fulness of it.

13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

13 μὴ φάγομαι κρέα ταύρων, αἷμα τράγων πίομαι; 13 μὴ φάγομαι κρέα ταύρων, αἷμα τράγων πίομαι;
13 Will I not eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 13 Will I not eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offer to God a sacrifice of praise, and pay your vows to the Highest. 14 Offer to God a sacrifice of praise, and pay your vows to the Highest.

15 And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

16 But unto the wicked God says, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in your mouth?

ἵνα τί σὺ διηγῇ τὰ δικαιώματά μου, καὶ ἀναλαμβάνεις τὴν διαθήκην μου διὰ στόματός σου;
ἱνατί σὺ διηγῇ τὰ δικαιώματά μου καὶ ἀναλαμβάνεις τὴν διαθήκην μου διὰ στόματός σου;
16 But to the sinner God said:
Why do you recite my statutes and respond to my covenant with your mouth?
16 But to the sinner God said:
Why do you recite my statutes and respond to my covenant with your mouth?

17 Seeing you hate instruction, and cast my words behind you.

17 but you hated discipline, and you threw out my words behind you. 17 but you hated discipline, and you threw out my words behind you.

18 When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and have been partaker with adulterers.

18 If you saw a thief, you were running with him, and you were adding your share with adulterers. 18 If you saw a thief, you were running with him, and you were adding your share with adulterers.

19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit.

20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.

20 While sitting, you kept defaming your brother, and you kept placing an obstacle against your own mother’s son. 20 While sitting, you kept defaming your brother, and you kept placing an obstacle against your own mother’s son.

21 These things have you done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such an one as yourself; but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes.

21 You did these things and I kept silent; you assumed lawlessness, that I would be like you. I will refute you and prove before you. 21 You did these things and I kept silent; you assumed lawlessness, that I would be like you. I will refute you and prove before you.

22 Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

22 Please understand these things, you who forget God, lest he seize you, and there will be no one to rescue. 22 Please understand these things, you who forget God, lest he seize you, and there will be no one to rescue.

23 Whoever offers praise glorifies me; and to him who orders his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.

23 A sacrifice of praise will glorify me, and a path is there by which I will show him the salvation of God. 23 A sacrifice of praise will glorify me, and a path is there by which I will show him the salvation of God.
