Module 1: Revelation and Holy Scripture
This module explores how God reveals Himself to humanity and the role that Holy Scripture plays in the life of the Church and in pastoral ministry. Particular attention is given to the nature of divine revelation, the authority of the Bible, and the responsibility of ministers in its interpretation. The module seeks to help students understand how the interpretation of Scripture shapes pastoral thinking, the language and content of preaching, and approaches to pastoral care, as well as why careful and responsible use of biblical texts is essential in the spiritual guidance of believers.
Module 2: God, Angels, and Demons
This module focuses on the doctrine of God and the reality of the spiritual world, presenting the Christian understanding of God as a personal and life-giving being. Special attention is given to how one’s image of God shapes the inner life of the believer, including trust, fears, and hopes. The study of biblical passages about angels and demons is intended to cultivate a balanced and responsible perspective on spiritual struggle, avoiding both neglect of spiritual realities and the excessive “demonization” of human or spiritual experience.
Module 3: Humanity and Sin
This module introduces the foundations of Christian anthropology, focusing on the theme of the image of God, human dignity, and human vulnerability. It addresses the nature of sin, the fall, the distortion of the image of God in humanity and in human relationships, and the inner conflicts of the human person. Through theological reflection, the module seeks to help pastors and mentors distinguish between guilt and shame, responsibility and suffering, and to develop an approach to pastoral care that brings together truth, compassion, and respect for the complexity of human nature.
Module 4: Jesus Christ, Salvation, and Sanctification
This module centers on the person and ministry of Jesus Christ as the foundation of Christian faith and pastoral ministry. It explores key aspects of Christology and soteriology, as well as the understanding of salvation as a process of spiritual renewal and transformation. The module helps students see how the grace, cross, and resurrection of Christ shape the identity of the believer and provide direction for pastoral care in the midst of growth, struggle, and hope.
Module 5: The Holy Spirit and the Spiritual Life of the Believer
This module examines the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and in the life of the Church. It briefly considers spiritual experience, the gifts of the Spirit, and the fruit of the Spirit within the context of mature Christian life. Particular attention is given to discernment, freedom, and responsibility in spiritual matters, as well as to the ways pastoral ministry can encourage spiritual growth without creating unhealthy dependence or pressure.
Module 6: The Church and Christian Hope
The final module examines the Church as a place of formation, belonging, and vulnerability, as well as Christian hope in the context of the unfinished nature of the present world. It reflects on ecclesiology and eschatology in a pastoral perspective, paying attention to community life, conflicts, disappointments, and pastoral care in times of suffering. The module highlights hope as an essential resource for pastoral ministry and spiritual encouragement.
