1 Oh LORD, don’t rebuke me in your anger, neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.

1 Oh Lord, don’t rebuke me in your wrath, nor chasten me in your anger. 1 Oh Lord, don’t rebuke me in your wrath, nor chasten me in your anger.

2 Have mercy upon me, Oh LORD; for I am weak: Oh LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

2 Have mercy on me, Oh Lord; because I am weak; heal me, Oh Lord; because my bones are troubled. 2 Have mercy on me, Oh Lord; because I am weak; heal me, Oh Lord; because my bones are troubled.

3 My soul is also sore vexed: but you, Oh LORD, how long?

3 καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη σφόδρα· καὶ σύ κύριε ἕως πότε; 3 καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη σφόδρα· καὶ σύ, Κύριε, ἕως πότε;
3 My soul also is very troubled; but you, Oh Lord, how long? 3 My soul also is very troubled; but you, Oh Lord, how long?

4 Return, Oh LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for your mercies’ sake.

4 Return, Oh Lord, rescie my soul; save me for your mercy’s sake. 4 Return, Oh Lord, rescie my soul; save me for your mercy’s sake.

5 For in death there is no remembrance of you: in the grave who shall give you thanks?

5 ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ ὁ μνημονεύων σου, ἐν δὲ τῷ ᾅδῃ τίς ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι; 5 ὅτι οὐκ ἐστιν ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ ὁ μνημονεύων σου· ἐν δὲ τῷ ᾍδῃ τίς ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι;
5 Because in death no one remembers you; and who will give you thanks in Hades? 5 Because in death no one remembers you; and who will give you thanks in Hades?

6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

6 I was weary with my groaning; I will wash my bed every night; I will shower my couch with tears. 6 I was weary with my groaning; I will wash my bed every night; I will shower my couch with tears.

7 My eye is consumed because of grief; it grows old because of all my enemies.

8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.

9 The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

10 Let all my enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
